Looking Back and Looking Forward

2021 has been an amazing year for my photography work! I wanted to share some highlighted projects I’ve done for my clientele that I am very proud of. Following my internship at PATTERN Indy, I decided to take a new approach with the type of content I produce and what it could be used for. I maintain the fine art approach I have always had, but I have also started focusing on the marketing and branding results that can be generated as well. The projects below are some of my favorites that I have completed in 2021. While I prepare some new projects and find more clients to work with, they will be important guidelines and stepping stones for what I want to achieve next! Besides doing more studio work and trying out new things, I am looking into testing a new business model with KPACOTA magazine as well! If you are interested in following my progress this year, make sure you are connected with me on Instagram (@l_soyfer)!

 2021 Projects and Client Work

Vigour Magazine - Darkness Becomes Them Editorial

“This shoot surrounds the story of two women with an unbreakable bond on a night out at the bar. They are intense, dark, ruthless, powerful and mysterious - yet the pair is full of dimension, with the shoot showcasing that while intimidating, the women are also sophisticated. Despite their beauty, these women hold as much, if not more power, than the men of their world - making a pair you don't want to cross. They are the women you want to be, but also the ones you are afraid of.

PATTERN Magazine - Euphoria Editorial

“Euphoria” was my first ever editorial that I directed and photographed myself. The scene is preceded by a hectic night out on the town for our three fashionable subjects. They find themselves at a gas station at the end of the night, distressed and trying to make their way back home. This editorial was an exercise in cinematic compositions and story-telling, as well as a showcase of different nightlife fashion. It was also a great learning experience that I think will benefit my future work a lot.

Cornelius Von Jackson - Pink Soup Album Cover/Digital Content

Cornelius reached out to me to create a cover for his debut record, as well as some extra content to be used in the marketing of the project. This was definitely one of the most interesting client shoots I have had this year. Shot on top of an undisclosed rooftop location, I can’t wait to get more opportunities like this one in the future.
